Ubisecure Provides Tekes with Secure Access to Virtu, an Identity Federation Comprising of Joint Governmental SaaS Services in Finland

First implementation in Finland also enables single sign-on use of third party cloud services

Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, is the first organization to access the Virtu Identity Federation, built to enable the joint use of governmental online Software as a Service (SaaS) services in Finland. The secure Single Sign-On access technology is provided by Ubisecure, a pioneering developer of standardized identity and access management software products. Tekes employees now have direct access to all online services within Virtu when logged in to their own network.

In the first phase, Virtu enables the easy use of the cloud-based M2 travel management solution. The implementation project was completed in January by Ubisecure’s IAM Academy partner program member, information security consulting company Nixu.

Virtu is a trusted network service, designed for and used by government departments and agencies. User identities are securely transferred between participating organizations and service providers using federation – global identity roaming in the Internet, which is analogous to user call roaming between wireless carriers. Federation enables Single Sign-On to multiple online services.

"With the ability to seamlessly move between systems and the elimination of constant renewals of forgotten passwords, both users and IT staff save a considerable amount of time."

Virtu enables the secure joint use of government online services through Single Sign-On. Tested as fully Virtu compatible, the Ubilogin SSO product facilitates the speedy deployment and smooth use of Virtu as well as third party cloud services.
