New channel leader will replicate adoption and impact of SSL products by bringing LEIs to a wider channel.

London, UK – 17th January 2019

RapidLEI, a fully accredited LEI issuer specialising in the automation of the LEI issuance process, today announced the appointment of Comodo alumni Nilesh Patel to take its Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) offerings to a global audience. Nilesh is an accomplished channel business leader who has driven growth and built world-class teams, especially during his 10 years at Comodo where his channel activity helped make the company the #1 issuer of SSL Certificates globally.

In his new role with RapidLEI, Nilesh is responsible for establishing local and global relationships, creating alignment between LEIs and new technology use cases, and to help partners succeed with the LEI opportunity. He will be supported by the RapidLEI marketing organisation in establishing co-marketing programs to accelerate partner growth.

Paul Tourret, Corporate Development Director for RapidLEI said, “During his time at Comodo, Nilesh built arguably the largest channel for transactional online security products in the industry. He understands what makes a channel successful in terms of providing support, integration, management and margin potential. We are privileged to have someone as accomplished as Nilesh join the RapidLEI team at this time of high growth.”

Nilesh Patel, newly appointed Channel Manager for RapidLEI said, “SSL became ubiquitous when it became an automated security technology, and because of the tens of thousands of channel partners that made it easily accessible. I see LEIs heading down the exact same path. LEIs are already a critical identity product for over a million organisations and, now that RapidLEI has automated the provisioning, we are opening up a much wider market. We will bring on board a much more diverse channel, and the end result will make it faster and easier for organisations to register and renew their LEIs at a lower cost. It’s an exciting time to join RapidLEI as we set our sights on disrupting the market for the benefit of all LEI stakeholders.”

RapidLEI was founded by several SSL industry veterans who also see the adoption of LEIs mirrorring the adoption of SSL. RapidLEI’s founders include Steve Roylance (co-founder of the CA/B Forum), Simon Wood (previously CTO of GlobalSign) and Paul Tourret & Steve Waite (co-founders of both GlobalSign and GeoTrust Europe).

Steve Waite, CMO for RapidLEI said, “Getting SSL to ubiquity took many years of positive pressure to address the need for encryption on the Internet. It’s great that problem is now mostly solved but the need to address an organisation’s digital identity remains. As a G20-backed identifier, we expect LEIs to reach mass adoption much faster due to the urgent need to address digital identity.”

Since launching in mid-2018, the company identifier market has responded positively to RapidLEI’s commitment to automation and customer service. The company consistently receives 5-star ratings for its service levels and has grown 600% quarter-on-quarter, – a growth rate that is expected to accelerate as new global partners are onboarded.
