Identity & cybersecurity veteran brings decades of go-to-market experience to expanding technology company

Helsinki, Finland & London, UK. – April 20, 2017 – Ubisecure, a leading European provider of Customer IAM and identity services, today announced the appointment of cybersecurity industry veteran Steve Roylance to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Identity Services.  In the newly created role Steve will drive market expansion for Ubisecure’s identity products, and develop and take to market synergistic new identity services through partnerships and innovation.

As a technology visionary and leader, in 2005 Steve assembled all major players in the Certification Authority industry and Browser Industry to form the CA/B Forum (www.cabforum.org) eventually resulting in the adoption of more rigorous validation processes as well as uniting the industry in the creation and adoption of common workflow standards for TLS/SSL sever certificate provision.  More recently Steve spent over a decade at the global Certification Authority GMO GlobalSign where he filed several patents and defined and implemented the core identity assurance workflows, in-house policy and additionally designed automation products to enhance customer experience.

Steve Roylance“Over the past decade, a strengthening of the underlying technology, coupled with wider availability of coding examples has fueled familiarity within the developer community of Public Key Infrastructure based solutions, allowing it to scale in order to meet the voracious appetite of the current, and impending, Internet of Things.” said Steve Roylance, “The only way in which PKI will be able to retain its leadership position is through innovative uses of IAM technologies that will ultimately allow highly accurate, business relevant identities to be incorporated prior to certificate creation.  As volumes increase it is the strength of the identity within the certificate which ultimately yields the true business value.  In addition to fueling the PKI industry’s needs, Ubisecure has the ability to deliver a suite of products and services that meet or exceed these requirements, including the upcoming impact of legislative changes like GDPR, KYC & PSD2.  I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to Ubisecure’s mission as I join the forward thinking Ubisecure team.”

“I’m excited that we can welcome Steve into the Ubisecure team.” said Simon Wood, group CEO for Ubisecure, “Steve has a strong proven history of delivering complex propositions and an ability to unite the industry to drive best practice and market acceptance. With the increased product adoption, strengthening delivery channel and strong growth in the first part of this year, Steve joins us at the perfect time to broaden our reach and widen the opportunity that we have. ”

Ubisecure works with hundreds of companies across Europe, and more recently North America and Asia in solving their identity management business needs with Ubisecure’s Identity Platform cloud and on-premise solutions.  Steve’s appointment further strengthens Ubisecure’s leadership team and follows the recent appointment of Simon Wood as the new group CEO and Andy Sambrook as the new group CFO.

Ubisecure is a wholly owned portfolio company of Base 10 Ventures (b10v).  Steve will also join b10v as a technology advisor.
